Portlaoise Community First Responders
Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme
With the launch of Ireland's Deposit Return Scheme, we introduced a dedicated recycling bin for bottles and cans to support this important initiative. Committed to sustainability and community impact, we made the decision to donate the collected recyclables to a local charity. By doing so, we ensure that the proceeds from recycling directly benefit those in need.
Currently, we proudly donate the proceeds to the Portlaoise Volunteer Community Responders, a dedicated charity providing 24-hour emergency cover and vital services to the local community. This ongoing partnership not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also supports a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of those in need.
Sustainability & Power Management at HQ
At Martin Reddin Ltd, we have implemented several initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and minimize our environmental impact, ensuring sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
We have installed sensor-controlled lighting in all office areas, which automatically adjusts based on occupancy. This not only reduces energy consumption but also minimizes waste, significantly contributing to our overall energy-saving efforts.
All of our IT equipment is equipped with power management features, which are actively utilized by our team. By using the 'sleep mode' function, we reduce energy usage by approximately 60% over the course of a typical workday.
To manage paper waste, we have placed designated bins for shredding and recycling throughout our offices. All paper waste is responsibly recycled, ensuring that we minimize landfill contributions.
Additionally, we use recycled ink cartridges for our printers. These are collected and returned to the supplier for proper recycling, further supporting our commitment to sustainability.
By focusing on energy conservation and waste reduction, these efforts not only improve our operational efficiency but also foster a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization, aligning with our broader sustainability objective
